Tasmania: Dark Past to Dark Mofo

The British travel writer, AA Gill, said of Hobart that it had ‘a moment of vaunting affluence, a long period of decline and a shock of eccentricity’. In many respects, Gill’s description of Hobart can be applied to the whole of Tasmania. This course aims to provide a modern perspective on a visit to the apple isle. An overview of history, festivals, food, activities and accommodation will unlock the secrets of our southern state.

This course will be delivered both face-to-face at WEA Sydney and online via the online platform Zoom simultaneously. Enrolling students need to ensure they have an email, a reliable internet connection, microphone/speakers and access to a tablet, smartphone or computer if they are attending via Zoom or have read the current COVID-19 Safety Guidance that WEA Sydney has put in place before enrolling into the face-to-face class.
