Module 1: Design Workplace Learning

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. Achievement of this qualification or an equivalent by trainers and assessors is a requirement of the Australian Quality Training Framework Essential Standards for Registration. This qualification consists of 10 units of competency. Further details can be found at www.training.gov.au


WEA Sydney will deliver this qualification in three Modules. A Learner can complete the three modules in any order.


PRE-REQUISITES:

  1. Appropriate English language skills to comprehend course content and to undertake assessment projects
  2. Subject matter expertise in an area where the learner intends to train
  3. Time availability (estimated 600 hours) to undertake and complete all classes, at-home study and assessment projects (Avg 200 hours per module)


MODULE 1 – Design & LLN

  • TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs
  • TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs
  • TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills

N.B. Students may be awarded a Credit Transfer for these units to the new TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification


Learn about the Australian VET Framework; design courses by unpacking training packages according to qualification rules and clients' needs; work with learners of different LLN skills and then plan your training by designing learning programs, session plans and resources in an inclusive and WHS environment based on national benchmarks


THE LEARNING STRATEGY AND PATHWAY
The learning pathway for the three modules shall consist of face-to-face delivery of 90 hours (30 hours in each module) involving class room demonstrations; discussions; practical tasks; group activities; Q & A and one-on-one support. The Learner is also expected to conduct further self-paced learning activities consisting of approx 510 hours, depending on the individual; this may include: research, workplace activities and assessment projects


UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI)
A Learner will be required to provide a USI in order to participate in assessments.


OFFICIAL PHOTO IDENTIFICATION
To participate in assessment, candidates will be required to produce valid official photo identification (Passport/Driver’s Licence or RMS PhotoCard). No photo ID – No Statement


WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is suitable for:

  • Someone intending to deliver training in an AQF qualification in an RTO
  • A person who intends to work in a corporate training environment
