This qualification reflects the roles of individuals delivering training and assessment services in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. It is also suitable preparation for those engaged in the delivery of training and assessment of competence in a workplace context, as a component of a structured VET program. This qualification consists of 10 units of competency. Further details can be found at www.training.gov.au.


WEA Sydney will deliver this qualification in three Modules. Please note that commencement of this course may be delayed until minimum class enrolment numbers are met.


REQUIREMENTS
Entry into this qualification will be by application only. Please ensure that you have read the TAE40116 Information Booklet as well as the WEA Sydney Student Handbook before clicking on ‘Apply Now’. Once you have submitted your request to apply, you will be emailed an application form.


Complete the application form and submit it along with a copy of your resume to james.laughlin@weasydney.nsw.edu.au. Once your application has been reviewed you will receive an email notifying you of the outcome which will include a link to enrolment for successful applicants. Please note that continuing students do not need to re-apply for this course.


UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI)
A Learner will be required to provide a USI in order to participate in assessments.


OFFICIAL PHOTO IDENTIFICATION
To participate in assessment, candidates will be required to produce valid official photo identification such as:

  • Passport
  • Driver’s Licence
  • RMS Photo ID Card

No Photo ID = No Statement

  • TAEASS402 Assess Competence
  • TAEASS403 Participate in assessment validation
  • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Learn about assessment strategies, pathways, plans and tools and how to use them to plan assessment activities and processes
  • Learn how to collect assessment evidence and make a judgement of competence in accordance with the rules of evidence and principles of assessment
  • Learn how to make contributions to a validation process and its outcomes by actively participating in assessment validation sessions
  • Learn how to design and develop compliant assessment tools

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is suitable for:

  • Someone intending to conduct assessment in an AQF qualification in an RTO
  • Persons who assess others in the workplace
  • Those who deliver either accredited or non-accredited training and / or assessment to both groups and / or individuals
  • Those required to hold an 'Assessor Skill Set'
Assessments are made against units of competency from the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116.
  • Participate in assessment validation (TAEASS403)
  • Assess competence (TAEASS402)
  • Design and develop assessment tools (TAEASS502)
  • Plan assessment activities and processes (TAEASS401)
