This course is for students who have completed Spanish Beginners 1, or an equivalent program. It is also designed for people working in the local tourist industry who wish to improve their customer service for tourists, but also caters for those wishing to develop their Spanish language skills for everyday use. Students will further develop basic skills to use in conversation, reading, listening, and writing. This course is recommended for people working in the general travel sector, who need to communicate at a basic level with Spanish tourists.

CLASS PLAN
Nine Sessions that aim to build general basic comprehension and communication skills in elementary Spanish.


CONTENT
Conversational Spanish and an introduction to cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of basic language principles.

PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Speak clearly and be understood in basic Spanish, in particular to give direction and instructions to Spanish tourists.
  2. Increase the skills, vocabulary and study attitude required for continued study of Spanish.
  3. Demonstrate the skills, language and attitudes required for further study of Spanish.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY
If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
