Current Affairs in Spanish (B2)

Discuss current topics in Spanish speaking countries after either watching different TV news extracts, listening to the radio or reading press articles! A great way to maintain and refresh your Spanish while debating on current affairs. This course is for independent users (B2) with at least over 400 hours of prior study required. The class is conducted solely in Spanish; however, technical vocabulary will be given prior or during the exercise. The participants need to understand the main point of discussion and be able to describe events and give reasons and explanations for opinions with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes a regular interaction with native speakers quite possible.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Have a better understanding of Spanish and Latin American culture by listening and reading current news.
  2. Expand their vocabulary through the introduction of specialized terminology.
  3. Participate in conversations about news and current events, and share their point of view.
