  • Introduction to Shakespeare and “Crossed by a Woman”: The wicked women who want their evil heart’s desire – includes Lady Macbeth, Tamora and Queen Margaret
  • “Blood will out”: The men who are willing to get blood on their hands to achieve their ends – includes Cornwell, Cassius and Shylock
  • “Because I can”: The Machiavellian plotters and schemers who lack a moral compass – includes Don John, Edmund and Iago
  • “With Blackened Hearts”: The malignant men who have no qualms about who they destroy – includes Richard III, Macbeth and Aaron the Moor.

  1. Identify and analyse character motivation.
  2. Interpret Shakespearean blank verse as part of plot and character study.
