Meet at the Cenotaph outside 1 Martin Place.

Sydney boasts a variety of beautiful 19th century sandstone buildings. Two clusters of such buildings are located along Macquarie St and George St between Martin Place and Bathurst St respectively. Not only are these buildings architecturally impressive and showcasing fascinating features, but many interesting stories are attached to the people planning, constructing and using them. Join Jo Gerk on a leisurely two-hour stroll of discovery around the neighbourhood, which also includes other sights, stories and pieces of trivia along the way. Buildings featured on this walk include General Post Office, State Library, Sydney Hospital, St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Town Hall and Queen Victoria Building

Please note: This walk will go ahead whatever the weather, except where the guide deems there to be a threat to health and safety. In this situation you will be contacted with an alternative date. Please ensure your mobile phone number is up-to-date with WEA before enrolling and make sure you take it with you on the day in case the tutor needs to contact you.
