Meet at the James Cook statue in Hyde Park (near corner Park and College St).

James Barnet’s career as Colonial Architect in NSW spanned a quarter century from 1860 until 1895. Barnet is responsible for some of the grandest 19th century buildings Sydney has to offer and this three hour city stroll will provide a closer look at some of those, while also sharing some insights into the stories behind the man, his life, his work and his legacy.

Please note: This walk will go ahead whatever the weather, except where the guide deems there to be a threat to health and safety. In this situation you will be contacted with an alternative date. Please ensure your mobile phone number is up-to-date with WEA before enrolling and make sure you take it with you on the day in case the tutor needs to contact you.
