The Elgin Marbles, taken from the Temple of Athena Parthenos in Athens, are back in the news, with the Greek President in a series of recent speeches demanding that they be returned from London’s British Museum to their ‘home’ in Athens. But the British Museum has other classical treasures they also gained in the 19th century, including remains of two of ‘the 7 Wonders of the World’, and art works from a temple designed by the architect of the Parthenon. Hear the story of these remains, plus other well-known “robbed” antiquities, then debate – return or not?
