Portuguese Beginners 4 (A1)

This course is for students who have completed Portuguese Beginners 3, or an equivalent program. It is also designed for people working in the local tourist industry who wish to improve their customer service for tourists, but also caters for those wishing to develop their Portuguese language skills for everyday use. Students will further develop basic skills to use in conversation, reading, listening, and writing. This course is recommended for people working in the general travel sector, who need to communicate at a basic level with Portuguese tourists.

Nine Sessions that aim to build general basic comprehension and communication skills in elementary Portuguese.

Conversational Portuguese and an introduction to cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of basic language principles.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Communicate easily understood in basic Portuguese, in particular to give direction and instructions to Portuguese tourists.
  2. Increase the skills, vocabulary and study attitude required for continued study of Portuguese.

IMPORTANT: Textbook cost is not included in the course fee. In the event of a course being cancelled WEA cannot be held responsible for the purchase of any textbooks. We therefore suggest you purchase your textbooks closer to the time of the course commencing.

If you enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
