Available Classes

This is a continuation course for students who have completed the WEA Portuguese Advanced level courses, or for those with intermediate language skills who wish to improve their fluency of the Portuguese language. This is a course corresponding to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). It is aimed at an adult audience who wish to improve their knowledge of and performance in Portuguese through a learning approach that focuses on interaction and communication. Each Unit consists of activities and exercises designed to develop different comprehension and production skills, and ending in each case with a suggested final task.

CLASS PLAN

Nine Sessions that aim to build advanced comprehension and communication skills in Portuguese.


CONTENT

Conversational Portuguese and a review of cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of higher level language principles.


PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Communicate in fluent Portuguese, in particular to give assistance, direction and instructions to Portuguese tourists.
  2. Exhibit the skills, vocabulary and study attitude required for continued study of Portuguese at an advanced level.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY

If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
