  • The threats to the Gardens of Stone’s globally significant sandstone pagodas, cliffs, natural arches, waterfalls, slot canyons, gorges and large caverns
  • Wildlife including the endangered Blue Mountains Water-skink, Giant Dragonfly and Purple Copper Butterfly
  • Highland swamps and water catchments that that are vital for Sydney’s clean drinking water.
  • The need to provide alternative employment in environmental protection and renewable energy for local coal dependency economies.

  1. An awareness of the natural and cultural value of the area known as the Gardens of Stone Stage 2 proposal
