Douglas Murray: The Madness of Crowds – Gender, Race, Identity

Douglas Murray’s book of 2019, The Madness of Crowds: Gender, Race and Identity, suggests that we are living through a postmodern era in which the grand narratives of religion and old political ideologies have collapsed, to be replaced by a crusading desire to right historical wrongs and a political weaponisation of identity. Murray seeks to examine some of the most controversial issues of this new era in chapters dealing with sexuality, gender, race and transgenderism, punctuated by insightful interludes on the Marxist origins of ‘wokeness’, the impact of Big Tech, and the need for forgiveness in an increasingly unforgiving world.
