Japanese tea ceremony encompasses all aspects of Japanese culture, including awareness of seasons, architecture, gardening, language and civility, food, art, flowers, crafts, and of course the unique powdered green tea. It is on rare occasions that the full tea ceremony is practised. This involves a full meal presentation, formal thick tea, and the informal thin tea. Join John McBride AM, a licensed Omotesenke tea master, and study the seasonal aspects of the full tea ceremony, using rare video taken of the lecturer’s tea master in Kyoto.
