John Lennon: The Man and the Beatles Songs He Loved and Loathed

Lennon was arguably one of the most transparent people ever in public life. You knew what he thought, good or bad. That’s what made him so interesting. Post Beatles, Lennon openly and often scathingly discussed the Beatles and their songs. Over four weeks we will track through his thoughts and the Beatles songs he both loved and despised and we will get to know John Lennon, warts and all.

COURSE OUTLINE

  • Hear what Lennon had to say about the Beatles and their songs – articles, interviews etc.
  • Listen to and discuss the Beatle songs he refers to, both the ones he liked and the ones he didn’t.
  • Look at what made Lennon who he was – from his childhood to the Beatles themselves
  • Look at his creative process
