This is a continuation course from lower levels of Japanese Beginners study, and is open to anyone wishing to develop their language skills. It is designed for people working in the local tourist industry who wish to improve their customer service to Japanese tourists. Students will develop enhanced skills in communication, reading, listening and writing. This course is recommended for people working in the general travel sector who need to communicate effectively with Japanese visitors.

CLASS PLAN
Nine Sessions that aim to build general mid-level comprehension and communication skills in Japanese.


CONTENT
Conversational Japanese and a review of cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of higher level language principles.

PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Communicate in easily understood basic Japanese, in particular to give assistance, direction and instructions to Japanese tourists.
  2. Increase the skills, vocabulary and study attitude required for continued study of Japanese.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY
If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
