Practise Your Japanese (Intermediate) 6

This course is for students who have completed Japanese for Busy People 1 & 2 or students who have about 300+ hours of prior learning. The course focuses on improving conversational skills using the knowledge and skill which students have learnt while extending vocabulary, phrases and sentence structure studies. The course ranges from daily life topics to a wide variety of social and cultural topics. The course includes learning about both formal and informal ways of expressions according to the situation.

This class will be delivered online via the online platform Zoom. Enrolling students need to ensure they have an email, a reliable internet connection, microphone/speakers and access to a tablet, smartphone or computer. Classes will consist of a minimum of 1.5 hours virtual class time, together with 30 minutes worth of work to be completed independently. You will be able to contact your tutor by email or phone to ask for guidance and feedback on this work. In addition tutors may set additional homework.

CLASS PLAN

Nine sessions that aim to build intermediate comprehension and communication skills in Japanese.

Conversational Japanese and a review of cultural practices focus on clear explanation of intermediate level language principal.

PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Communicate in Japanese in a variety daily situation.
  2. Write some information and ideas in Japanese using Hiragana, Katakana and some Kanji.
  3. Improve accuracy, fluency and complexity.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY

If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
