Italian Through Art (A2-B1)

This course revises and expands knowledge of the Italian language through basic readings and listenings on Italian art. It is suitable for students with intermediate language skills, or who have completed at least 200 hours of tuition. Each session looks at a specific work of art, an artist, or an art period, in Italian art history, from Etruscan art to contemporary Italian design. The course involves reading and analysing texts, watching videos and analysing the commentary, discussion in Italian and some grammar exercises.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Improve reading skills.
  2. Improve pronunciation.
  3. Increase vocabulary.
  4. Revise and expand on a number of grammar points.
  5. Acquaint the student with further aspects of Italian art history.
