Indonesian Beginners 4

This course is for students who have completed Indonesian Beginners 3, or an equivalent program. The course is designed for people working in the local tourist industry who wish to develop their customer service skills for Indonesian speaking visitors, but also caters for those wishing to develop their Indonesian language skills for everyday use, in particular business people travelling to Indonesia for work-related reasons. Students will further develop basic skills to use in conversation, reading, writing and listening.

CLASS PLAN

Nine Sessions that aim to build general basic comprehension and communication skills in elementary Indonesian.


CONTENT

Conversational Indonesian and an introduction to cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of basic language principles.


PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Speak clearly and be understood in basic Indonesian, in particular to give direction and instructions to Indonesian tourists.
  2. Increase the skills, vocabulary and study attitude required for continued study of Indonesian.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY

If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
