Intermediate Calligraphy: Fraktur Script

Fraktur is a style of calligraphy based on the Gothic (Blackletter) scripts. It emerged during the 16th century in Germany. It is less austere than the traditional Gothic scripts as its curved forms give decoration to the letters. We will explore the many examples of this attractive script, analyse their varying forms and from these create individual alphabets. A simple binding will be made to display the script. To join this course, you just need to have learnt one script using a chisel-shaped calligraphy nib.
