Historic Tasmania: Port Arthur to the Derwent Valley
We travel across Van Diemen’s Land to visit the rugged west coast and Macquarie Harbour. A visit to Port Arthur shows the resources used by the penal institutions. We meet the ruling class and see the disastrous effect on the indigenous population. Culture arrives with the Franklins. We complete our journey with a return to Hobart and the wonders of the Derwent Valley.
