Georgette Heyer invented the Regency Romance sub genre with the publication of Regency Buck in 1935 and nobody ever did it better. We will investigate the eight novels she set from the time the Prince Regent began his rule in 1811 to the end of the Napoleonic wars in 1815, looking at the background history, and her life at the time of writing, as well as the themes, structure, characters, language and values.
