Gilgamesh and Inanna: Ancient Epic Heroes

The greatest and earliest stories we have told ourselves are from the soil from which all culture grows: the two most significant epic characters from ancient Babylonian culture. These great stories have often been eclipsed by Egyptian and Roman myths, but today we can go back to the very beginning, to the oldest recorded stories of them all, to discover the two most significant epic characters from ancient Babylonian culture, Gilgamesh the king, and Inanna the goddess, each of them exploring – but so differently! - some of the fundamental questions of the ages: death and immortality, power and threat, love and friendship.
