Practise Your German through Short Stories (B2-C1)

Meet important German speaking writers from the 1950s until today. Learn about their biographies. Read and discuss their short stories or book excerpts. This course is held in German. A good knowledge of the language (Level B2 or C1) is required.

This class will be delivered online via the online platform Zoom. Enrolling students need to ensure they have an email, a reliable internet connection, microphone/speakers and access to a tablet, smartphone or computer. Classes will consist of a minimum of 1.5 hours virtual class time, together with 30 minutes worth of work to be completed independently. You will be able to contact your tutor by email or phone to ask for guidance and feedback on this work. In addition tutors may set additional homework.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Improve their oral confidence by communicating in German.
  2. Use grammatical structures and comprehension abilities to expand their vocabulary at an more advanced level.


If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
