French Through Virtual Travels (B1-C2)

Improve your French via a virtual visit to different French regions: from Paris to Corsica, UNESCO heritage sites, and more. Share your holiday photos and your love for France, and plan your next trip with the class.

This class will be delivered online via the online platform Zoom. Enrolling students need to ensure they have an email, a reliable internet connection, microphone/speakers and access to a tablet, smartphone or computer. Classes will consist of a minimum of 1.5 hours virtual class time, together with 30 minutes worth of work to be completed independently. You will be able to contact your tutor by email or phone to ask for guidance and feedback on this work. In addition tutors may set additional homework.

COURSE OUTLINE

The course is designed to be interactive. It is based on exploring different regions in France through virtual travelling. The key destinations will be:

  • Paris
  • Castles of the Loire Vallée
  • UNESCO Heritage Sites
  • Dordogne
  • Alsace
  • La Bretagne
  • Les Alpes
  • Corsica
  • French Riviera

PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Describe key regions in France and UNESCO heritage areas of the country.
  2. Describe their own travel destinations (past or future).
  3. Discuss the beauty and the diversity of the French landscape.
  4. Discuss the cultural diversity of the French regions.
  5. Plan their next trip in France.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY

If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
