This course introduces you to MS Excel 2013 where you will learn to create simple spreadsheets, to work with numbers including: cell formatting, simple formulae and simple charts.


Please note: This training will be delivered in a computer room in a Microsoft Windows 10 environment – we do not provide Mac courses. Please make sure you select courses and enrol at the level appropriate to your skills and needs. NO REFUND and NO TRANSFER if you enrol in the wrong course.


PRE-REQUISITES
Basic knowledge of computers and ability to use a computer keyboard for data entry.


LEARNING PATHWAY
The learning pathway shall consist of face-to-face delivery of 6 hours involving class room demonstrations; discussions; practical tasks; group activities; Q & A and one-on-one support


PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon the completion of this training, students will be able to:

  1. Select and prepare resources – workstation ergonomics, WHS requirements; energy conservation techniques; spreadsheet task requirements
  2. Create simple spreadsheets – data entry according to organisation’s needs; format spreadsheet (Including: alignment, efficiency of formulae, borders, patterns and colours, headers/footers, absolute and relative cell addresses, use of cell addresses); formatting cells, formatting text, sizing columns and rows; use simple formulae such as – average, division, maximum, minimum, multiplication and subtraction and sum; and where to find help.
  3. Produce simple charts – select chart type; create and modify charts
  4. Finalise spreadsheets – preview and print (including: fit to one page, with formulae and with values); meeting time lines; name and store spreadsheets
