Following World War II Germany was first occupied, then divided and finally reunited. All within half a century. A number of key events shaped the growth of Germany into the biggest economy in central- western Europe. These events need to be examined if we are to be able to understand the Germany of today.

  • 1970: Willy Brandt in Warsaw / 'Ostpolitik'
  • 1989: Fall of the Wall / 'Die Wende'
  • 1999: Helmut Kohl’s Illegal Money
