Discover the creative photographic potential of everyday life in the city. You will explore the unique character of some of Sydney’s inner suburbs and turn your observations into poignant photographs. The course alternates between classroom sessions and photo excursions. Learn about creative techniques, ideas and composition skills in the classroom and then explore a variety of environmental details such as structures, walls, ornaments, surfaces and unexpected peculiar things on our field trips. We will also look at and discuss the work of other urban photographers to enhance your ideas. Bring any camera which has manual settings and make sure that you know its basic functions.

Please bring any camera with manual setting option (camera needs to be fully charged on field excursions or bring a spare charged battery). Students are required to know the basic functions of their own camera.
