Chair Yoga

Interested in yoga but have limited mobility or flexibility? Then try chair yoga – a gentle practice that modifies poses so you can perform them while seated. This class is designed for those who are new to exercise, are recovering from an injury, have a health condition or simply don’t like exercising on the floor. Poses are specifically designed to improve flexibility, mobility and muscle strength while also focussing on breathing and mindfulness. No prior yoga experience required! Just bring yourself and something comfortable to wear.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Practice a number of simple yoga poses that can be done in a chair, anytime anywhere
  2. Use simple breathing exercises to maintain a feeling of calm and wellbeing
  3. Experience the benefits of stretching and relaxing the body in a fun environment
