This is an advanced course for any student wishing to develop their language skills for business, travel or everyday use. Students will develop skills to use in conversation, reading, listening and writing.


TEXTBOOK
New Practical Chinese Readers Book 4, covering Lesson 46 and Lesson 47.


COURSE OUTLINE

  • Speak about and be understood when discussing changes in education that touch upon relationships between parents and children in China.
  • Express uncertainty.
  • Explain the reason for a point of view.
  • Idiomatic expressions such as …“strange”, “not entirely”, “perhaps so”, “hard to say”, “…doing all sorts of things”.
  • Discuss and/or write about how the recent changes in education that are affecting the dynamics of Chinese families.


PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Conduct conversation in Chinese efficiently for business and travelling.
  2. Have knowledge in the Chinese language equal to two years of university full time standard.

LANGUAGE CLASS TRANSFER POLICY
If you are a new WEA Student and enrol into a language class and subsequently find that you are at the wrong level (whether too high or too low), you are permitted to transfer into another more suitable class at no additional cost, provided that the request is made within the first two classes and is in writing from your tutor directly to the Education Manager. After that point, an administration fee of $30 will apply.
