Caliphate of Córdoba: 700 Years of Muslim Rule in Spain

During the period of Muslim rule (711-1236), Córdoba rose to one of the world's major political, financial and cultural centres. At its height, the Caliphate of Córdoba covered almost all of the Iberian Peninsula, before disintegrating into many smaller kingdoms following infighting. This course will shed some light on 500 years of Córdoba's history, plus an additional two centuries in Granada, until the final Christian reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula in 1492.
