Ideal for the traveller or Egyptophile, this course will give a broad outline of the history of ancient Egypt from the Pre-Dynastic Period to the death of Cleopatra VII. Emphasis will be given to placing Egypt’s famous monuments and individuals in an overall historical context. Students will read ancient Egyptian documents in translation and be introduced to the archaeology of Ancient Egypt.
