E. Phillips Fox & Ethel Carrick Fox were incredible and talented artist each in their own right – they met and fell in love in Cornwall in 1903, and then moved to Paris to paint, and live during the Belle Epoque. Their art conjures images of an impressionist France, whilst E. Phillips Fox’s Nasturtiums and The Ferry are much loved art works. After the early death of her husband in 1915, Ethel Carrick Fox travelled extensively, painting in India and North Africa whilst still exhibiting in Paris, and encouraging Australian art galleries to purchase the work of E Philips Fox.
