This course is all about being able to manage budgets and financial plans in your work team.


This course consists of four (4) sections. They are:

  1. Plan financial management approaches
  2. Implement financial management approaches
  3. Monitor and control finances
  4. Review and evaluate financial management processes

At the conclusion of this course you will be asked to complete the Assessment for this unit of competency. The information contained in this resource will assist you to complete this task.


You will then have demonstrated your ability to establish, maintain and evaluate the organisation’s budgets and financial strategies and processes in your relevant work area.


COURSE CONTENT
Plan financial management approaches

  • Access budget / financial plans for the work team
  • Clarify budget / financial plans with relevant personnel within the organisation to ensure that documented outcomes are achievable, accurate and comprehensible
  • Negotaite any changes required to be made to budget / financial plans with relevant personnel within the organisation
  • Prepare contingency plans in the event that initial plans need to be varied
  • Assessment - ‘True’ or ‘False’ Quiz.

Implement financial management approaches

  • Dissenminate relevant details of the agreed budget / financial plans to team members
  • Provide support to ensure that team members can competently perform required role associated with the management of finances
  • Determine and access resources and systems to manage financial management processes within the work team
  • Assessment - ‘True’ or ‘False’ Quiz.

Monitor and control finances

  • Implement processes to monitor actual expenditure and to control costs across the work team
  • Monitor expenditure and costs on an agreed cyclical basis to identify cost variations and expenditure overruns
  • Implement, monitor and modify contingency plans as required to maintain financial objectives
  • Report on budget and expenditure in accordance with organisational protocols
  • Assessment - ‘True’ or ‘False’ Quiz.

Review and evaluate financial management processes

  • Collect and collate for analysis, data and information on the effectiveness of financial managament processes within the work team
  • Analyse data and information on the effectiveness of financial management processes within the work team and identify, document and recommend any improvements to existing processes
  • Implement and monitor agreed improvements in line with financial objectives of the work team and the organisation
  • Assessment - ‘True’ or ‘False’ Quiz.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Course material will be accessible only for 6 months from payment date. Extensions will be granted only in the case where WEA Sydney’s website is not accessible due to maintenance or other technical issues.

  • No qualifications or special knowledge of a subject is required unless specified.
  • A certificate is issued automatically once the course test is completed with a 90% success rate.

REFUND POLICY

  • Once you log into the course, no refunds will be issued.
  • Refunds/Deferral (into a different course) are processed only within 29 days after the issue of the log-in and only in cases when the log-in was NEVER used.
