This course is about being able to manage information systems in your workplace.


The course consists of three (3) sections. They are:

  1. Organise learning to use information or knowledge management systems
  2. Manage use of information or knowledge management system
  3. Review use of information or knowledge management system

At the conclusion of this course you will be asked to complete an assessment.


On conclusion of the course you will have demonstrated your ability to identify, acquire, analyse and use appropriate information which will play a significant part in the organisation’s effectiveness.


COURSE CONTENT
Organise learning to use information or knowledge management systems

  • Identify learning needs of relevant personnel and stakeholders for input into, and use of, an information or knowledge management system.
  • Identity and secure human, financial and physical resources required for learning activities or use an information or knowledge management system.
  • Organise and facilitate learning activities.
  • Promote and support use of the system throughout the organisation.
  • Monitor and document effectiveness of learning activities.
  • Assessment - ‘True’ or ‘False’ Quiz

Manage use of information or knowledge management system

  • Ensure implementation of policies and procedures for the information or knowledge management system are monitored for compliance, effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Address implementation issues and problems as they arise.
  • Monitor integration and alignment with data and information systems.
  • Collect information or achievement of performance measures.
  • Manage contingencies such as system failure or technical difficulties by accessing technical specialist help as required.
  • Assessment - ‘True’ or ‘False’ Quiz.

Review use of information or knowledge management system

  • Analyse effectiveness of system and report on strengths and limitations of the system.
  • Review business and operational plan and determine how effectively the system is contributing to intended outcomes.
  • Make recommendations for improvement to system, policy or work practices.
  • Assessment - ‘True’ or ‘False’ Quiz.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Course material will be accessible only for 6 months from payment date. Extensions will be granted only in the case where WEA Sydney’s website is not accessible due to maintenance or other technical issues.
  • Once your enrolment has been processed you will be issued with a password within 48 hours sent to the email you provided. This will provide 24 hour access to on-line course material, test and other resources. This will be sent to the email address you have provided.
  • No qualifications or special knowledge of a subject is required unless specified.
  • A certificate is issued automatically once the course test is completed with a 90% success rate.

REFUND POLICY

  • Once you log into the course, no refunds will be issued.
  • Refunds/Deferral (into a different course) are processed only within 29 days after the issue of the log-in and only in cases when the log-in was NEVER used.
