This course is about being able to design and produce various business documents. It includes the skills and knowledge required to select and use a range of functions on a variety of computer applications.


This course consists of two (2) distinct sections. They are:

  1. Select and Prepare Resources (covering Element 1).
  2. Design, Produce and Finalise Document (covering Elements 2, 3 & 4).

The basic act of writing seems simple to most: Put pen to paper or fingertips to keyboard. What foils many would-be authors? The defining elements of content and structure. Because most professionals are required to write memos, reports, department communications, and the like, a facility for writing effectively can have monumental results.

At the conclusion of this course you will be asked to complete an assessment. The information contained in this resource will assist you to complete this task.


COURSE CONTENT
Select and Prepare Resources (covering Element 1)

  • Select and use appropriate technology and software applications to produce required business documents.
  • Select layout and style of publication according to information and organisational requirements.
  • Ensure document design is consistent with company and / or client requirements, using basic design principles.
  • Discuss and clarify format and style with person requesting document / publication.
  • Assessment - ‘True’ or ‘False’ Quiz.

Design, Produce and Finalise Document (covering Elements 2, 3 & 4)

  • Identify, open and generate files and records according to task and organisational requirements.
  • Design document to ensure efficient entry of information and to maximise the presentation and appearance of information.
  • Use a range of functions to ensure consistency of design and layout.
  • Operate input devices within designated requirements.
  • Complete document production within designated time lines according to organisation requirements.
  • Check document produced to ensure it meets task requirements for style and layout.
  • Store document appropriately and save documents to avoid loss of data.
  • Use manuals, training booklets and / or help-desks to overcome basic difficulties with document design and production.
  • Proofread documents for readability, accuracy and consistency in language, style and layout prior to final output.
  • Make any modifications to document to meet requirements.
  • Name and store documents in accordance with organisational requirements and exit the application without data / loss damage.
  • Print and present document according to requirements.
  • Assessment - ‘True’ or ‘False’ Quiz.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Course material will be accessible only for 6 months from payment date. Extensions will be granted only in the case where WEA Sydney’s website is not accessible due to maintenance or other technical issues.
  • Once your enrolment has been processed you will be issued with a password within 48 hours sent to the email you provided. This will provide 24 hour access to on-line course material, test and other resources. This will be sent to the email address you have provided.
  • No qualifications or special knowledge of a subject is required unless specified.
  • A certificate is issued automatically once the course test is completed with a 90% success rate.

REFUND POLICY

  • Once you log into the course, no refunds will be issued.
  • Refunds/Deferral (into a different course) are processed only within 29 days after the issue of the log-in and only in cases when the log-in was NEVER used.
