COVID-19 Safety Guidance

Last updated: 10th May 2021

In response to the relaxation of restrictions related to COVID-19 WEA Sydney is offering a mixed program of both face-to-face and online courses for 2021. As always, the health and safety of our staff, students, and the wider community, remains paramount. WEA Sydney will continue to follow the NSW Government requirements in relation to curbing the spread of COVID-19 in accordance with our COVID-19 Safety Plan that has been registered with the NSW Government.

The following measures will be in place in WEA House to limit the risk to students, tutors and staff:

  • Class numbers will be limited to allow seating to be spread out in-line with social distancing requirements.
  • All students, staff and visitors will be required to sign in to WEA house using a QR code.
  • All classrooms and common areas will be cleaned regularly.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided on entry and exit, and throughout the building.
  • Any enrolees who have symptoms of respiratory illness, or have recently visited or travelled from a COVID-19 hotspot, will be asked to stay away from classes.
  • No onsite refreshments will be available.

Mask wearing is compulsory in the public areas of WEA house, and optional but strongly recommended within the classrooms.

To participate in our classes using Zoom, all you need is an email, internet connection and access to a device such as a phone/tablet or computer with a microphone and speakers. For more information on how our online classes work, please see our Zoom FAQ page.

The WEA office remains open during this period and you can contact us through the regular channels.
