This cheeky 8 week online course is run on an easy-to-set-up video conferencing app called Zoom. This will be our new method of bridging the gap until our face-to-face classes recommence. It will include all your classmates on the screen for visual and vocal interaction, all from the comfort of your own home! Singing techniques, warm ups, breathing demonstrations, repertoire learning and theory will be in the mix of this 90 minute class offered. This course is the last in a series of five singing courses:

1. Love Your Voice! An Introduction To Singing
2. Develop Your Voice
3. Enrich Your Voice
4. Challenge Your Voice
5. Celebrate Your Voice

Each successive course requires either prior enrolment in the previous course or relative experience.

This class will be delivered online via the online platform Zoom. Enrolling students need to ensure they have an email, a reliable internet connection, microphone/speakers and access to a tablet, smartphone or computer.

COURSE OUTLINE

• An in depth look into pitch confidence and sound quality using specifically chosen vocal warm ups.
• Learn about blending voices and interweaving interval patterns using aural exercises.
• Decipher and consolidate part singing in mixed genres of repertoire.
• Strengthen rhythmic skills using speech and notation.
• Continue learning musical tricks and tips on singing with musicality and accuracy.
  
  

PLANNED LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

1. Enjoy applying the layering effect of harmonies and keeping to their own part with confidence.
2. Pick up a piece of music and have a solid grounding of how to decipher it with accuracy.
3. Use peripheral hearing skills essential for blending and pitch awareness - a must in choral and choir work.
4. Enjoy and be educated in singing songs derived from many different genres.
5. Recognize and remember that singing is fantastically fun and the energy created from group singing is indeed something to Celebrate!
