Following Enrich Your Voice, it's time to prod, provoke and challenge the inner musician in you. We will be continuing our song learning, breathing instructions, warm up techniques and discussing song structure, melodies and rhythm. You will be able to see each other for 90 minutes of vocal interaction and musical bliss! This course is fourth in a series of five singing courses:

1. Love Your Voice! An Introduction To Singing
2. Develop Your Voice
3. Enrich Your Voice
4. Challenge Your Voice
5. Celebrate Your Voice

Each successive course requires either prior enrolment in the previous course or relative experience.

This class will be delivered face-to-face at WEA Sydney. Enrolling students need to ensure they have read the current COVID-19 Safety Guidance that WEA Sydney has put in place before enrolling.

COURSE OUTLINE

• Vocal warm ups concentrating on flexibility, sustainability and vocal stamina.
• Consolidate harmonies and intervals in songs.
• Accurately sing and decipher music repertoire in varied time signatures.
• Imitate, read and strengthen rhythm combining singing and conducting.
• Understand essential theory in songs to achieve all round musicianship.

By the end of this course, students should be able to:

1. Let go vocally! Tame the inner-critic and sing with renewed self-belief.
2. Enjoy the complexities of harmony and vocal lines in a group setting.
3. Allow themselves to discover their own rhythmic abilities with confidence.
4. Be fearless about how to approach and apply music theory to song.
5. Be equipped with vocal skills, techniques and music knowledge essential for home application and in choirs.
