Helen Joyce, an Irish journalist who is currently the executive editor for events business at The Economist, is the author of the 2022 book called Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality. More than just a matter of Twitter storms and contentious pronoun choices, Joyce shows us that self-declared gender identity has been privileged over biological sex in areas such as law, company policies, school and university curricula, sport, medical protocols, and media reporting standards throughout the last decade.
