Island hopping in Greece is a form of travel that can keep one occupied for months, if not years. A virtual two-hour whirlwind visit can naturally only provide some brief glimpses at just a few of the more well-known islands in the Ionian and Aegean Seas. The beaches, the turquoise waters, the glowing sunsets, but also culture and history, including Venetian, Napoleonic, British and Ottoman periods provide ample reason to explore Corfu, Chios, Rhodes, Santorini and another dozen or so gems in the eastern Mediterranean.
