Both Venice and Split were founded by Roman activity. Split as a palace fortress for Emperor Diocletian, and Venice as a refuge for mainland Romans fleeing the disintegration of the Roman empire. We visit each city to see what makes them so interesting to the modern traveller.

This class will be delivered online via the online platform Zoom. Enrolling students need to ensure they have an email, a reliable internet connection, microphone/speakers and access to a tablet, smartphone or computer.
