Students who successfully achieve the competency requirements of nationally recognised courses, or who complete a WEA Sydney computer or training course, are issued with a certificate or statement of attainment as appropriate. To receive a certificate in a Nationally Recognised Training course you must present a valid ID (passport, driver’s licence or birth certificate) during enrolment or shortly thereafter. Your ID number will be retained for 30 years.
Students enrolled into accredited and non-accredited VET courses will, upon request, be issued a certificate of attendance in PDF form. This will be emailed to the student at the email address provided to WEA Sydney at the time of enrolment. Students must have attended 80% of the class to be eligible. A student may request a hard copy certificate, this will be issued upon receipt of a fee of $28 per certificate (incl. GST).
Accredited VET courses: Accredited Statement of Attainment and Certificates of Qualification. Students must provide WEA Sydney with official photo ID (as above). If ID is not provided an accredited Statement of Attainment or Qualification certificate cannot be issued. Accredited certificates will be issued in hard copy upon student being assessed as ‘Competent’ by assigned assessor. The first issue is free of charge. Replacement Statement of Attainment requests must be put in writing, with student required to sign a Statutory Declaration. The replacement fee is $55 per Statement (incl. GST). Replacement Qualification requests must be put in writing, with student required to sign a Statutory Declaration. The replacement fee is $110 per qualification (incl. GST).
Attendance at 80% of a WEA Sydney Writing Skills, English or Communications course qualifies students for a free WEA Certificate of Attendance. A certificate of attendance will be emailed to the student at the email address provided to WEA Sydney at the time of enrolment, on request.
To receive a certificate for any other WEA course, you must have attended at least 80% of the sessions. Please provide your name, address and course details together with a $10 fee and a certificate will be mailed to you. Your request must be received within 12 months of completion of the course. A $25 fee applies to reissue a certificate. After 2 years, it may not be possible to re-issue a certificate.
